SDN 1 Babadan Tulungagung Seriously Damaged, BPBD Provides Tents to Study

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has prepared emergency tents to support the learning activities of students at SDN 1 Babadan, Karangrejo District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java.

A total of two classrooms of the school were severely damaged and are in the process of being repaired.

Head of the BPBD Tulungagung Sudarmadji said his party had coordinated with the Tulungagung Education Office (Disdik) regarding the plan to provide emergency tents.

"The emergency tent will be used as a temporary study room so that learning activities can continue during the construction process," he said, Saturday, quoted by Antara.

According to him, the establishment of emergency tents will be carried out after the school examination is completed. This step is taken so that the process of installing tents does not interfere with the examination activities which are currently still ongoing.

BPBD prepared a tent measuring 6 x 12 meters that can be used as a temporary study room for students.

Sudarmadji ensured that the provision of emergency tents would not interfere with the readiness of the BPBD in the face of potential natural disasters in the Tulungagung area.

"We are ready to help. We are just waiting for an official request from the school so that the capacity needs can be adjusted," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the SD Department of the Tulungagung Education Office, Dwi Teguh Prasetya, said that some students are currently undergoing learning and examination activities by utilizing the school mosque and library.

According to him, SDN 1 Babadan has 63 students so that at least two units of emergency tents are needed to support teaching and learning activities during the construction process.

"We are still coordinating with the school. It is possible that the tent will be installed at the same time as the start of the construction of the damaged classroom," he said.
