UIN Jakarta Emphasizes the Legality of the Foundation, the Assets of the Pamulang School Are Said to Belong to the State
The explanation was given after a riot occurred in the environment of the Pamulang Islamic Development TK and SD, South Tangerang, on June 4, 2026. At that time, there was a push-and-shove action between UIN Jakarta and the school management.
The Vice Rector for General Administration of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Imam Subchi, said that the presence of the campus at the location was to carry out a visit and socialization of changes in the management of the foundation.
"The change in the management of the foundation that oversees a number of educational units in the Ciputat and Pamulang environments has been legally valid and officially recorded in the General Legal Administration of the Ministry of Law," said Imam in a press conference at UIN Jakarta, Friday (5/6/2026).
According to Imam, the change was recorded in the AHU on May 13 and has binding legal force. Therefore, the legality of the foundation is under the governance of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
UIN also stated that land and assets in the school environment were State-Owned Assets (BMN). The assets are said to have been certified and recorded in SIMAN and SIMAK-BMN, two state asset recording systems.
Imam said his party came to the location to ensure the condition of assets and educational facilities. However, the UIN delegation was said to have been blocked by parties who were considered to have no legal basis for the assets.
"We consider it necessary to conduct a direct review because various conflicting information has emerged regarding the management of these assets. However, it is very unfortunate that when we came to the location we were blocked," he said.
He emphasized that asset security was not just an administrative matter. According to Imam, the value of assets reached hundreds of billions of rupiah and the allowance of state assets has the potential to be a finding of the BPK and the Inspector General of the Ministry of Religion.
The legal representative of UIN Jakarta, Alwanih, said that the foundations that manage the education units have had institutional relations with the government through UIN Jakarta from the beginning. He said that the position of the patron of the foundation ex officio was held by the Rector of UIN Jakarta.
"The change in the management of the foundation has been carried out legally and recorded in the AHU. Thus, the change has a strong legal basis," said Alwanih.
The lawyer for the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Sholeh, also asked other parties who claimed to be the administrators of the foundation to show the legal basis.
"UIN does not feel right, but UIN is right. Because we have shown the legality," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation and former Rector of UIN Jakarta for the period 2015-2019, Prof. Dede Rosyada, said that the Triguna Foundation and the Syarif Hidayatullah Foundation in principle had handed over the management of the institution to the government through UIN Jakarta.
UIN Jakarta stated that it would continue to take legal and procedural steps to secure state assets and maintain the continuity of educational services for the community.
