PLN UID Jakarta Uses Backup Electricity, PAM Jaya Water Still Flows

JAKARTA - PLN UID Jakarta Raya ensures that electricity supply to PAM Jaya's operational facilities remains safe during the maintenance of the switchyard. This step is important because power outages at vital points can also disrupt residents' clean water services.

Maintenance is carried out by PLN UP3 Menteng at the distribution substation that supplies the PAM Jaya clean water processing and distribution facilities. In order for the work not to interrupt the service, PLN prepared a supply security scheme from the planning stage.

PLN UID Jakarta Raya General Manager Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin said the maintenance was carried out with a non-shutdown method.

"PLN not only focuses on the reliability of electricity supply, but also ensures that every maintenance work can be carried out without disrupting the vital services needed by the community," Andy said in a written statement, Saturday, June 6.

He said that coordination with PAM Jaya was carried out from the beginning so that technical work would not affect clean water customers.

PLN also prepared a backup supply through the Mobile Cable Unit (UKB). This device is used to maintain the flow of electricity to the PAM Jaya facility during the maintenance work of the switchyard.

With this scheme, the operation of the processing and distribution of clean water of PAM Jaya will continue. Customers will also continue to receive water services during maintenance.

PLN UP3 Menteng Manager Hendratua P. Manurung said intensive coordination was the key because clean water was a basic need of the community.

"We understand that clean water services are basic needs of the community that must be maintained," said Hendra.

He said PLN ensured that maintenance work was safe, without disrupting the continuity of electricity supply that supports clean water services.

Senior Manager of PAM Jaya's Production Division Aly Sunandar appreciated PLN UP3 Menteng's support in the work.

"Through good coordination and the support of the Mobile Cable Unit, the operation of the PAM Jaya facility can continue to run well so that the clean water service to customers is maintained," said Aly.

PLN stated that it would continue to strengthen the pattern of maintenance without shutting down and cooperation with public service managers. The goal is that the electricity infrastructure remains reliable without sacrificing basic community services.
