Palestinian Commission Records 1,659 Israeli Attacks Throughout May
JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Commission for Resistance against Walls and Settlements, Minister Mu'ayyad Sha'ban, stated that, in total, Israeli forces and settlers carried out 1,659 attacks during the month of May.
This attack is referred to as a systematic terror carried out by the occupying forces against the Palestinian people, their land, and their property.
In the commission's monthly report released on Saturday, June 6, Sha'ban said the occupation army carried out 1,108 attacks, while the settlers carried out 551 attacks.
He stressed that the attacks were mainly concentrated in Hebron, Ramallah and al-Bireh governorates, which recorded 319 attacks each.
The next regions were Nablus Governorate with 301 attacks and Bethlehem with 212 attacks.
Sha'ban highlighted that the attacks include direct physical violence, tree felling, burning of agricultural land, preventing farmers' access to their land, confiscating property, and destroying houses and agricultural buildings.
He pointed out that these practices occur simultaneously with the closure of large areas of Palestinian land under the pretext of security, while at the same time protection and support are provided to settlers to enable them to expand their presence in those areas.
