Pakistan's Interior Minister Visits Iran to Discuss New Proposals for Negotiations with the US
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is scheduled to visit Iran to discuss "a number of new proposals" regarding the Pakistani-mediated diplomatic process over the US-Iran conflict, according to Pakistani sources to Anadolu.
Naqvi will meet senior Iranian leaders to discuss "a number of new proposals" to end the ongoing impasse and reach a temporary agreement between the US and Iran, sources in Pakistan said.
As reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 6, the Pakistani Minister will also discuss efforts to revive the second round of negotiations between the two parties to end the conflict.
Iran's semi-official Mehr news agency also reported that Naqvi would visit the country for talks amid Islamabad's ongoing mediation efforts.
The visit was made after Naqvi met with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on Friday in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where the two attended a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization interior ministers.
Naqvi was directly involved in negotiations with Tehran as Pakistan was mediating a possible agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war permanently, which began on February 28.
