Probiotics Help Maintain Digestive Health Which is Important for Child Growth and Development
JAKARTA - Having a healthy digestive tract is very important for everyone, especially for children who are still growing. This is because digestive health conditions affect the child's growth and development to run well or not.
Pediatric Specialist, dr. Miza Afrizal Azwir, Sp.A., BMedSci, MKes, said that if there is a disorder in the digestive tract, then the absorption of nutrients is not optimal. This condition will make children have poor growth.
"If it enters (food) and the digestive tract is problematic, then the absorption is not optimal. It looks like you eat a lot, but the growth is not good, because the nutrients are not absorbed perfectly, the food just passes through," said dr. Miza, in the Digestion Expert Lab event at Mal Kota Kasablanka, South Jakarta, Friday, June 5.
A child who has digestive disorders will experience symptoms that disrupt their daily lives. From fussiness, lack of appetite, to disturbed sleep.
"In my practice, signs such as children being more fussy, clinging on, having less appetite, or sleeping poorly can be related to uncomfortable and less optimal digestion," he explained.
Therefore, parents must understand the child's condition well and maintain the child's eating pattern for the child's digestive tract to remain healthy. One way to support healthy digestion in children is the selection of appropriate, varied, and balanced daily nutrition, including probiotics.
Probiotics are live microorganisms that, if consumed in sufficient amounts, will provide health benefits, especially for the digestive tract. There are many probiotics, with one of them being the L.reuteri type that has been clinically proven to support digestive tract health.
"Various studies show that L. reuteri has been clinically proven to work throughout the digestive tract, helping to maintain the balance of the microbiota and supporting digestion for optimal nutrient absorption," he added.
Thus, LACTOGROW comes with milk products containing L.reuteri, which can be consumed by children to support digestive health for good growth and development.
"As part of Nestlé, which has more than 160 years of experience in the field of nutrition, LACTOGROW, the only growth milk in Indonesia with L.reuteri under the BioGaia license and 0g sucrose, wants to accompany mothers in understanding the important role of healthy digestion for the growth and development of children," said Category Marketing Manager PT Nestlé Indonesia, Vera Gozali.
