Mundur Beredar, Purbaya: Saya Sukanya Maju

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa spoke up regarding the issue that said he would resign from the post of state treasurer.

Purbaya admitted that he did not know the origin of the rumor, which he considered unfounded, and he was surprised when the issue had spread across various media.

"If I (want) to go forward, go forward, go back, I like to go forward so I don't know where the gossip started, where it came from, it was spread to all media, it seems," he said in a press conference APBN Kita, Friday, June 5.

He emphasized that he never had the intention to resign, and the issue was unfounded and could potentially disrupt market stability.

"I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to retreat, I like to move forward like this, huh. There is no issue. Maybe it's not reasonable. I also read the leaflet that was white paper. Some of the information is correct but some of it is wrong so smart people twist the information there," he said while joking and getting up from his chair to move forward.

He added that although some of the contents of the document were true because it was related to a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, and there was information that had been distorted so that it seemed to trigger market turmoil.

"So it seems right, because every sentence on the paper, I attended the meeting with the president, but some of them were twisted as if to shake the market this time," he said.

He emphasized his commitment to always follow President Prabowo Subianto's directions. "We follow the President's orders. So the commitment is strong, keep moving forward, we will move backwards," he said.
