LRT Jabodetabek Tests Adding Travel Frequency in the Morning Rush Hour Starting June 8, 2026
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) continues to be committed to improving the comfort of users of the Jabodebek LRT. Starting Monday (8/6) to Friday (12/6), KAI will operate the Extraordinary Train (KLB) trial to increase frequency in rush hours on weekdays.
On the Jatimulya - Dukuh Atas BSI relationship, the journey will be operated at 07.14 WIB between the regular schedule of 07.08 WIB and 07.16 WIB. Meanwhile, on the Harjamukti - Dukuh Atas BSI relationship, the journey will be operated at 07.24 WIB between the regular schedule of 07.22 WIB and 07.30 WIB.
Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Radhitya Mardika, said that the KLB trial for adding frequencies in the morning was carried out based on the movement pattern of users which showed a high volume of people in the morning time range.
"The trial of adding frequencies is a KAI adaptive step in responding to the mobility needs of LRT Jabodebek users during the morning rush hour. KAI sees an increase in the density of LRT Jabodebek users, especially at the main departure stations to the activity center in Jakarta," he said.
Based on the operational data of the Jabodebek LRT, the average volume of users during the weekdays (weekdays) between 06.00 to 08.00 WIB was recorded as quite high at a number of stations, including:
- Harjamukti Station with an average of 6,224 users per day,
- Cikunir Station 1 with 3,274 users per day,
- Jatimulya Station with 2,786 users per day, and
- Jatibening Baru Station has 2,638 users per day.
In addition, Cikoko Station, which is integrated with the Commuter Line and Transjakarta KRL modes, also serves an average of 3,432 users of the Jabodebek LRT per day during the morning rush hour.
During the trial operation of the KLB, the Jabodebek LRT will continue to serve users normally by optimizing the pattern of travel operations at time slots that have higher mobility needs. This step is expected to support a more even distribution of users and reduce the queue density at stations and train sets.
KAI will continue to evaluate the travel patterns of users of the Jabodebek LRT, to provide safe, comfortable, and responsive public transportation services to the needs of urban communities.
