Realization of the MBG Budget Reaches Rp88.15 Trillion until May 2026
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said that the realization of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program budget until the end of May 2026 has reached Rp. 88.15 trillion.
This realization increased by 17.53 percent compared to the previous month's realization of Rp75 trillion.
"The realization of the Free Nutritious Meal budget so far has reached Rp. 88.15 trillion for 63.13 million recipients," said Purbaya at the APBN KiTa press conference, Friday, June 5.
Until the end of May 2026, the number of beneficiaries was recorded at 63.1 million people, consisting of 48.9 million students and 14.3 million non-students which include pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
This number has increased compared to April 2026 which reached 62 million recipients.
In addition, the government noted that there were 29,670 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that had been operating until the end of May 2026, and each SPPG was known to serve around 500 to 3,000 beneficiaries.
Previously, the government decided to cut the budget ceiling for the MBG Program in the 2026 State Budget from Rp. 335 trillion to Rp. 268 trillion.
The policy is an order from President Prabowo Subianto that the management of MBG funds can be carried out more efficiently and accurately.
In addition, there are signals of the potential for further savings for the MBG program, although until now the government has not explained the details of the policy.
For information, the realization of state spending until May 2026 reached Rp. 1,365.4 trillion or 35.5 percent of the 2026 state budget target of Rp. 3,842.7 trillion. This amount increased by 34.4 percent compared to the same period last year which was recorded at Rp. 1,016.3 trillion.
The state expenditure consists of central government spending of Rp1,059.3 trillion or 33.6 percent of the 2026 target of Rp3,149.7 trillion.
The details are, the spending of ministries/institutions (K/L) reached Rp517.7 trillion or 34.3 percent of the target of Rp1,510.5 trillion, while non-K/L spending was realized at Rp541.6 trillion or 33 percent of the target of Rp1,639.2 trillion.
Meanwhile, the Regional Transfer (TKD) has reached Rp306.1 trillion or 44.2 percent of the 2026 State Budget target of Rp693 trillion.
