DKI Provincial Government to Open 2,843 Solid Work Jobs with UMP Salary, Wait for the Main Date

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung announced that the DKI Provincial Government would open thousands of job vacancies for the Jakarta program. These labor-intensive workers will receive wages equivalent to the DKI Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP).

This was decided based on the DKI Provincial Government's plenary meeting in order to anticipate current economic pressures.

"The DKI Jakarta Government has decided to open Padat Karya. The labor-intensive scheme so that people can work, and we open approximately 2,843 vacancies. And they are paid equivalent to the UMP in DKI Jakarta," said Pramono at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, June 5.

Currently, Pramono has not decided when the job vacancy will take place. The DKI Provincial Government is also still formulating what areas of work are needed to be filled by workers.

What is clear, this program will be implemented as a social cushion to reduce unemployment, as well as increase the purchasing power of low-income people in Jakarta. Later, this program will be implemented for 3 months.

"To create social cushions so that people work, the DKI Jakarta Government in the first 3 months. Later we will extend it to see the existing problems, open approximately 2,843 job vacancies that are social cushions from families that of course have only one requirement, Jakarta ID," said Pramono.

On the one hand, the DKI Provincial Government will also open job fairs at a number of points, both targeting the general workforce and the disabled group.

"So we will still hold it, because I believe that the job seekers in Jakarta are also quite high. That later if the interest is less, it's okay, we will still hold the job fair," he said.
