Weda Hospital Worth IDR 183.82 Billion Starts Construction, Target to be Completed in December 2026

JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) has started construction of the Weda Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Central Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province.

The project, which is sourced from the 2026 State Budget, has a budget ceiling of IDR 183.82 billion and is targeted to be completed by December 2026.

The construction of the RSUD is part of the Ministry of Health's Integrated Health Service Fulfillment Program (PHTC) which aims to provide more quality health facilities in the region.

In the project, WIKA carried out a number of scope of work which includes planning, structural work, architecture, interior, mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP) to landscape areas.

WIKA Corporate Secretary Ngatemin, said that currently the project has entered the initial stage of implementation, ranging from preparatory work, technical planning, preparation of shop drawings, arrangement of work areas to procurement of materials, equipment and supporting vendors.

"Furthermore, construction work will be continued gradually to support the completion of the project according to the target," said Ngatemin in a written statement, Thursday, June 4.

The construction of the Weda Regional Hospital is expected to strengthen public access to more adequate, modern and representative health services. With better facilities, the hospital will be able to support the improvement of the quality of health services in the Central Halmahera region.

Ngatemin said that the construction of the Weda Regional Hospital not only plays a role as a provider of health facilities, but also becomes part of efforts to reduce the gap in access to basic services between the central and regional areas.

"With the availability of more representative health infrastructure, people in the region can get closer, decent and sustainable services," he said.

In its implementation, WIKA applies a project control system that includes site management, layout management and traffic management. This step is taken to ensure that the mobilization of materials, tools and labor runs orderly, safely and minimizes disruption to activities around the project area.

"Through the construction of Weda Hospital, WIKA also supports the equalization of access to health services to areas that need more attention in Indonesia," he concluded.
