Lion Parcel Introduces MINIPACK, Lighter Package Postage Can Save Up to 50 Percent
JAKARTA - Lion Parcel has launched a new delivery service called MINIPACK which is specifically for light packages with a maximum weight of 300 grams.
This service offers more economical shipping costs because customers are no longer charged a minimum rate of 1 kilogram (kg) for small-sized packages.
The presence of MINIPACK is a solution to the needs of the community, especially business actors and online sellers, who have long complained about the delivery costs that are not proportional to the actual weight of the goods.
Lion Parcel Chief Marketing Officer Kenny Kwanto said the company understands the challenges faced by customers when they have to pay shipping costs based on a 1 kg tariff even though the items being sent only weigh a few hundred grams.
"We often hear the challenges they face when they have to pay a 1 kilogram tariff for a package that is actually very light, some even call it 'pay the wind'. Through MINIPACK, Lion Parcel wants to present fair pricing so that customers only pay according to their shipping needs, while supporting the growth of business players, especially MSMEs," said Kenny in a press conference, in Jakarta, Thursday, June 4.
Through this service, continued Kenny, customers can enjoy more efficient delivery rates without reducing service quality. Lion Parcel ensures that the MINIPACK Service Level Agreement (SLA) remains equivalent to the company's regular service.
For example, for the Jakarta-Makassar route, which is charged at a regular service rate of Rp. 46,000 per kilogram, MINIPACK customers only need to pay Rp. 23,000. Thus, the cost of delivery can be more economical by up to 50 percent.
Lion Parcel assesses that the efficiency of shipping costs is an important factor in the midst of the continued growth of online business. More affordable logistics costs are expected to be able to maintain people's purchasing power while increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs and digital business players.
Meanwhile, Lion Parcel's Chief Retail Officer Febri Andika said MINIPACK was born out of the needs of customers, which were found through the Lion Parcel agent network in various regions.
Febri said that demand for light package delivery services with more efficient delivery costs continues to increase as online shopping and delivery of small-sized products grow.
"The agent network is one of Lion Parcel's main touchpoints in serving customers. Currently, Lion Parcel is supported by more than 7,000 agents spread throughout Indonesia. Through this network, we also continue to explore insights and understand market needs as part of efforts to bring innovations that are relevant to customer needs," said Febri.
Febri said MINIPACK can be accessed through the Lion Parcel application or a network of agents spread throughout Indonesia. This service also supports the Cash on Delivery (COD) and COD Ongkir payment methods. For COD Ongkir users, Lion Parcel provides a "Pay Ongkir on the Spot, Don't Pay if Late" program that provides added value for customers.
In terms of operations, Lion Parcel is supported by a distribution network that reaches 99 percent of domestic areas as well as access to more than 350 Lion Group flights.
The infrastructure allows the company to maintain service quality while ensuring that the delivery of packages takes place optimally to various areas.
In the future, Lion Parcel is committed to continuing to bring innovations that answer the needs of the public and business actors in the midst of the development of the national logistics and e-commerce industry.
The presence of MINIPACK complements the company's service portfolio, which previously included REGPACK, JAGOPACK, BOSSPACK, VIPPACK, INTERPACK, BIGPACK, and BIGPACK FAST.
"Through these various service options, Lion Parcel strives to provide flexible, efficient, and appropriate delivery solutions for the needs of communities and business actors throughout Indonesia," he said.
