President Trump Says U.S. Will Get Iran-Sourced Enriched Uranium

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that based on the deal being discussed with Iran, "we will get" Tehran's high-enriched uranium supplies, which have been a key point in the negotiations, but added that he wanted to separate the Lebanon war from the talks on the nuclear deal.

President Trump said talks with Iran could produce results over the coming weekend and were going "very well."

"I heard the negotiations themselves were actually going very well," President Trump told reporters, adding of a potential deal: "It could happen over the weekend," Al Arabiya reported (4/6).

Regarding the Lebanon war, President Trump said he wanted to separate the talks from talks about the war between the United States and Iran, although Tehran insists that the conflict is related.

"I want to separate it, I want to have separate things, because it is separate," said the US President.

He said the US "actually spoke to Hezbollah for the first time." But when asked about this comment on Tuesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Trump was referring to a mediator in the Lebanese Government who conveyed messages between the Iran-backed group and Washington.

"They (Hizbullah) agreed yesterday that they would not shoot, Israel would not shoot, we would just watch," President Trump said.
