BGN Moratorium for the Construction of SPPG Benahi Tata Kelola MBG
JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Nanik Sudaryati Deyang stated that his party would suspend or temporarily stop the construction of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) as a commitment to improving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
"In order to be efficient with the budget, what we do is first, refocusing (adjustment) of the beneficiaries; second, a moratorium on new point kitchens; third, the renovation of kitchens that have been established and operating to meet standards to produce quality food," he said in a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, June 4, reported by ANTARA.
He emphasized that the moratorium would be carried out as soon as possible to equalize the distribution of MBG and in the context of budget efficiency in accordance with the instructions of President Prabowo Subianto.
"The point is equity, in the sense that it is not the kitchen that must be the beneficiary, but equity in the sense that all children must be able to, but also not with many kitchens. If there are many kitchens, it is not efficient because we rent kitchens. We will stop this and arrange it, how many SPPGs are ideal in one district or one district," he said.
The arrangement of the SPPG, according to him, is quite easy to do because BGN has worked with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN, and the Ministry of Home Affairs to calculate how many MBG kitchens are needed for beneficiaries in an area.
"So, now there are many who apply and the position is in preparation and so on. Currently, there are already about 27 thousand more kitchens that are operational. We will finish this first. For example, in one district there are only six, yes, only six. Then. will it be opened? If later we see that there are fewer, we will open the registration again," he said.
In addition, BGN will also focus on the development of SPPG in lagging, leading, and outermost regions (3T) considering that currently the beneficiaries of MBG in these regions are still lacking.
"So we are going to rest first, because honestly, what is piling up now in the agglomeration, the 3T has not been touched. So, Mr. President, the message is that we have to go to the 3T first," said Nanik.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of integrity and accountability in the implementation of the MBG program so that the government's priority program runs according to its purpose and is free from irregularities.
"I don't want people's money to be stolen. And there are no exceptions," he said when attending the Building Indonesia's Future Generations Through Nutrition event at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor Regency, Wednesday (3/6).
He emphasized that the government was committed to maintaining the success of the MBG program by ensuring that there was no abuse of authority or corruption in its implementation.
According to Prabowo, the decision to replace a number of parties in the implementation of the program was taken after receiving reports related to deficiencies, irregularities, and alleged irregularities in the field.
