Shenina Cinnamon Enters K-pop After Starring in "Night Shift for Cuties"

JAKARTA - Shenina Cinnamon revealed that she was more interested in K-pop after starring in the series Night Shift for Cuties. In addition to his character, he felt trapped because of his co-star, Nadya Syarifa.

Night Shift for Cuties tells the story of Muti (Shenina Cinnamon) and Jenar (Nadya Syarifa), two supermarket employees who struggle to meet their idols in South Korea. Various conflicts from self to family affect the interaction between the two.

"One sentence: K-pop. When I was offered a K-pop element, (thinking) would I debut as an idol? Mr. Kevin (Kevin Ryan-Producer) wants me to be an idol? It turns out not, sayang," said Shenina Cinnamon in South Jakarta on Thursday, June 4.

Even though it's a casual listener, Shenina admitted that she actually learned more thanks to this series. He was also asked by the creator not to delve too deeply into his idol.

"I was told, I shouldn't be so good with Mica (Monica Tedja) because her character is oon," said Shenina.

"It started from there, there was K-pop wah this was a new thing, a fangirl character, wanted to be exciting. It turns out that Muti's character is very hit-sandwich generation, really hyped up, I'm excited to be able to capture the sandwich, so is he, he doesn't give up and wants to achieve his dreams," explained Shenina again.

Nadya Syarifa as a co-star is also one of the parties who helped Shenina to further explore her character.

"I was poisoned a lot from Nadya, that's why I said my temperature was still the new learning version, I was just a queen. I bought all the solo albums of BLACKPINK members," added Shenina.

"I went to the (agency) XG office, the front photos were the only important photos and saw the poster of the new album. Just for the hype. I came with custom shoes, the music video Shooting Star, I kept buying albums. Then I saw that there were solo members who released solo albums, BLACKPINK and shenina bought everything," said Nadya Syarifa.

Monica Tedja as the director explained, "Who are we to judge? Everybody can dream and whatever it is and in the series we choose it as simple as watching your idol who gives a new passion for life. "

The Night Shift for Cuties series is also played by Emir Mahira, Gabrielle Novangeline, Ryou Jau Hyun, Kim Ye Jin, Baek Seo Ra, and others.

With 8 episodes, the Night Shift for Cuties series can be watched starting Thursday, June 4 on Netflix.
