Kerek Export Performance, Jona Ready to Make Hipmi a Global Competitive Collaboration House

JAKARTA - The weakening of the rupiah in the midst of current global uncertainty is an important proof of the performance of Indonesian exports. However, only about 1 percent of our entrepreneurs are actively exporting directly.

Data from the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy in 2025, the contribution of MSMEs to the total national export is only in the range of 15.7 percent.

In fact, this sector contributes more than 99 percent of the total business units and absorbs up to 97 percent of domestic labor.

Responding to this phenomenon, the Candidate for General Chairman (Caketum) of the Central Management Agency (BPP) of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Ade Jona Prasetyo is committed to increasing export performance.

The instrument, by making Hipmi a house of global competitive collaboration.

Jona believes that the greatness of Indonesian youth can become the main actors in the global supply chain.

He gave an example, QRIS, a payment standard created by Indonesia that has been applied in nine countries. In fact, cumulatively it has reached Rp. 1,000 trillion.

"This proves that Indonesia is capable of being a pioneer in the world. We should be proud to use QRIS," said Jona in a press statement received by VOI, Thursday, June 4.

In the midst of the devaluation of the Garuda currency, which is Rp17,900 per US dollar, Jona views that export performance must be improved.

"Because the rupiah will be strong if our exports are strong. So we have to prove it through exports," he said.

Jona is optimistic that by making Hipmi a home for collaborating with global competitive entrepreneurs, the rupiah will be stable.

Moreover, he continued, the focus is to make UMKM actors rise in class through downstream.

He said that the contribution of MSMEs to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached 61 percent.

With global competitive MSMEs, it is not impossible for the world market to be flooded with Indonesian products.

"We can not only be hosts in our own country, but also become major players in the international market," said the man who is currently serving as Deputy General Treasurer of BPP Hipmi.

Jona understands that MSMEs need capital to carry out downstream processing. For this reason, he will fight for the People's Business Loan (KUR) from the original Rp. 500 million to Rp. 2 billion for MSMEs.

He will also fight for the contribution of local entrepreneurs in every realization of investment that enters Indonesia. Moreover, the realization of investment during the first quarter of 2026 reached IDR 498.8 trillion.

"Imagine if we can capitalize on this investment through young entrepreneurs in the region. Hipmi can be a locomotive for economic growth from the region to the national level," said Jona.

He said, the potential in the region is very abundant. Through the downstream program, Jona is optimistic that MSMEs will be upgraded and globally competitive.

"We will accompany local entrepreneurs. For example, simply processing fish into pempek, or processing seaweed into raw materials needed by the food, pharmaceutical, and other industries," concluded Jona.
