Iranian Rocket and Drone Attacks Hurt 63 People in Kuwait
JAKARTA - More than 60 people were injured in Kuwait as a result of Iranian rocket and drone attacks, including passengers and airport staff.
"Since the first hours of the Iranian attack on Kuwait, the health care system has been fully mobilized. A total of 63 injured victims have been rushed to hospital and seven emergency operations have been performed," said the spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, Abdullah Al-Sanad, Wednesday, June 3, reported by ANTARA from Sputnik.
The injured victims include passengers and airport staff with varying injuries, ranging from broken bones, head trauma, to burns.
Previously, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched a retaliatory attack against US military targets in the Middle East.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry then claimed that the attack on Qeshm Island was launched from countries in the region and declared Kuwait as one of the parties responsible.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense stated that it had repelled the attack and the missile.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said the Iranian missiles were launched towards Kuwait and Bahrain, but were intercepted or fell before reaching their targets.
CENTCOM also added that they shot down several drones to prevent casualties or damage to US personnel and facilities.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and casualties among civilians. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
On April 7, Washington and Tehran announced a ceasefire. However, the follow-up talks held in Islamabad ended without producing results.
