US Attacks Qeshm Island, Iran Claims Right to Defend Itself

JAKARTA - Tehran condemned the United States' attacks on Qeshm Island and Iranian tankers, and reaffirmed Iran's right to self-defense.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also said that Iran accused Kuwait and Bahrain of being involved in the incident.

"The Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the aggressive actions of the United States military that attacked an Iranian oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as launching attacks from the region of the region against communication towers on Qeshm Island on Wednesday," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said, quoted by ANTARA from Sputnik, Wednesday, June 3.

The ministry also reminded Iran of its right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity by using all available means.

In the statement, Iran also confirmed the direct responsibility of Kuwait and Bahrain regarding the incident.
