KPK OTT at the Immigration Office of the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office Related to Foreigner's Residence Permit

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) held in connection with the management of residence permits for foreign nationals (WNA). There are dozens of people who have been secured, including the Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office in the anti-corruption campaign held since last night.

"If we know that a foreigner can live in Indonesia, there is a name for it, KITAP, yes, a permanent identity card, there are also temporary ones or KITAS. Well, in the process of handling it," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3.

Budi did not elaborate on the article applied in this silent operation. He only said that dozens of people were secured along with a number of evidence, in the form of cars to cash and precious metals.

"There are dozens of people who were secured in the series of events that were caught this time, and also the evidence that was secured were vehicles, cars, motorcycles, and also evidence in the form of cash, foreign exchange, there were United States dollars and Singapore dollars, and there were also in the form of precious metals gold," he said.

The team is still carrying out a series of activities to date. Budi said the KPK is now visiting a number of places in West Java and Bali.

"This is still related to the immigration process, yes. There are several points, yes, usually those processes," he explained.

The KPK has 1x24 hours to conduct an examination of the secured party.
