BDx and PLN Secure 1.2 GW of Electricity Supply for National AI Infrastructure

BDx Data Centers (BDx) has officially secured a total electricity supply commitment of 1.2 Gigawatt (GW) through a strategic partnership with PT PLN (Persero).

BDx Indonesia said that this agreement is a new milestone, as well as marking the largest electricity supply commitment ever obtained by a data center operator in Indonesia to date.

"Through this collaboration, we can build a robust infrastructure that is ready to support AI needs, while meeting the long-term demand of companies, hyperscalers, and sovereign digital workloads," said BDx Indonesia CEO Agus Hartono Wijaya in his statement.

This strategic move is said to be a crucial foundation for BDx in expanding the national hyperscale infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that are now increasingly thirsty for electricity.

Meanwhile, the Director of Retail & Commerce, PLN, Adi Priyanto emphasized the company's commitment to supporting strategic digital industries, by providing reliable and continuously developed electricity infrastructure.

"Our collaboration with BDx reflects PLN's role in driving the growth of AI and Indonesia's digital economy in a robust and sustainable manner," continued Adi.

BDx's portfolio in Indonesia represents the most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem in Southeast Asia. CGK4, the first campus in Indonesia to receive NVIDIA DGX-Ready certification, provides up to 650 MW of capacity in line with renewable energy sources, and has supported the deployment of H100-class GPUs for AI training and standalone cloud workloads.

CGK3 presents high-density computing capabilities with liquid cooling technology in Jakarta, which is designed to support the next generation AI platform, including NVIDIA GB200.

Meanwhile, CGK5, with a capacity of 300 MW, expands BDx's hyperscale track record in Indonesia. Collectively, these three facilities are the main foundation for the development of independent national digital and AI infrastructure.
