Following the Hanania Group Umrah Case, the Metro Police Will Investigate Keanu, Dara Arafah, and Karin Novilda

JAKARTA - The case of the alleged Hanania Group umrah fraud has begun to drag a number of big names in the world of social media. Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed that it will call top celebrities to be questioned regarding their involvement in promoting the travel agency.

Some of the names that are widely rumored include Keanu, Dara Arafah, and Karin Novilda. The Head of the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, confirmed the plan to summon them.

"Of course we will also take statements from those who are questioned, the celebrities," said Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin at the Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, June 3.

This examination is aimed at clarifying the position of the celebrities in the business scheme of PT Hasanahtama Internasional. The police want to know how much they know about the operations of the travel agency they are promoting.

"(They) who participate in providing or becoming marketing in terms of offering several umrah packages," said Iman.

According to Iman, the statements from these celebrities are very necessary to complete the investigation file of the main suspect. Their current status is as witnesses to explain the contract for promotional cooperation.

"Marketing in terms of offering several Umrah packages offered by PT Hasanahtama Internasional or Hanania Group," he explained again.

The police had previously obtained confessions from the suspects that part of the congregation's funds was allocated to pay for the services of these celebrities in order to boost the sale of umrah packages.

"The correlation with the second question, will the celebrities be examined? Of course we will also take statements," said Iman.

Kombes Iman menegaskan bahwa penyidik akan bersikap profesional dalam mendalami peran masing-masing pihak dalam kasus ini.

"The celebrities who participate in providing or becoming marketing," he added.

This examination is expected to open the veil of how the Hanania Group uses public figures to attract public interest.

"We will take statements from the celebrities," concluded Iman Imanuddin.
