Palace ensures MBG program continues to run even though BGN leadership is replaced
JAKARTA - Secretary of State Prasetyo Hadi ensures that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program continues to run normally even though President Prabowo Subianto has replaced the leadership of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). The government emphasized that the change of leadership would not interfere with the service to the community.
"The government once again emphasizes that this change of leadership will not interfere with our commitment in carrying out the MBG program implemented by BGN," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 2.
In the latest leadership arrangement, Nanik S Deyang was appointed as Head of BGN to replace Dadan Hindayana. Meanwhile, the position of deputy head is now filled by Agustina Arum Sari and Major General TNI Trenggono replacing Lodewijk Paulus and Sony Sanjaya.
Prasetyo said the government would continue to evaluate the implementation of the MBG program. However, the evaluation process is ensured not to hinder the service or distribution of the program to the community.
"The government will continue to ensure that during the evaluation process that we continue to carry out all BGN programs continue to run as they should. Service to the public must not be disturbed at all and every work unit in the BGN environment is expected to continue to carry out its duties according to its respective responsibilities," he said.
According to him, the change of leadership is part of an effort to strengthen the BGN institution so that the implementation of the program runs more optimally. The government also asked the new leadership to immediately carry out internal consolidation.
"To the three new BGN leaders, we hope to be able to immediately consolidate internally, strengthen cross-ministerial and inter-agency coordination, and strengthen coordination with regional governments, both provincial and district/city governments, and ensure that all BGN programs can continue to run as well as possible," he said.
Prasetyo emphasized that the MBG program has a strategic role in developing Indonesian human resources while also encouraging national economic growth.
"As part of our investment in education and human resources, and at the same time as a commitment to the humanitarian manifesto, the commitment to the manifesto of impartiality and of course we hope that this program can become a driving force for the national economy," he concluded.
