KPK Investigates Filling of Hajj Quota at Fuad Hasan Masyhur Company
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the filling of the Hajj quota at the company owned by Fuad Hasan Masyhur, namely PT Maktour.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo explained that the deepening was carried out by examining four PT Maktour staff on Tuesday (2/6), namely as witnesses to the alleged corruption case of the haj quota.
"The witnesses were present, and were investigated regarding the proposal and mechanism for filling the Hajj quota at Maktour," Budi told journalists in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Meanwhile, he explained that the KPK was going to call Fuad Hasan Masyhur as a witness on Tuesday (2/6).
However, he said Fuad had not been able to meet the KPK's call because he claimed to still be in Saudi Arabia in the context of the implementation of the hajj.
Previously, the KPK initiated an investigation into the alleged corruption case of Indonesian Hajj quotas for 2023-2024 on August 9, 2025.
On January 9, 2026, the KPK named former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and staff in particular, Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, as suspects.
Meanwhile, Fuad Hasan Masyhur as the owner of the Maktour Hajj organizing office was not named a suspect, although he was temporarily barred from going abroad.
The KPK then received the results of the audit of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) on February 27, 2026 which stated that the state's losses in the case amounted to IDR 622 billion.
On March 12, 2026, the KPK detained Yaqut at the KPK Red and White Building Branch State Detention House, then detained Ishfah on March 17, 2026.
The KPK had shifted Yaqut's detention status to house arrest on March 19, 2026 at the request of his family, but again detained him at the KPK Detention Center on March 24, 2026.
On March 30, 2026, the KPK named two new suspects, namely the Director of Operations of Maktour Ismail Adham and the former General Chairman of the Union of Tour Travel Haji Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia (Kesthuri) Asrul Aziz Taba.
