The head of the North Atlantic Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Gusarov, admitted that he was open to the latest possibilities in relations with the US.

"Of course, in terms of practical results, the emerging dynamics of the recovery of relations still need to be tried. However, no matter how long and difficult this road is, we are ready to move forward, provided that both sides adhere to the basic principles of mutual respect for each other's interests, mutual benefit, and non-interference in internal affairs," he said in an interview with the International Affairs magazine, Tuesday, June 2, quoted from Tass.

Gusarov said that since Donald Trump took office as the second US President, he has the intention to "revise the very confrontational and ideological attitude" left by the US President of the Joe Biden era.

"Balanced and pragmatic dialogue has become the norm, although there are still many differences of opinion. A number of useful bilateral contacts have taken place, including at the highest level," he said.
