Two perpetrators of stabbing a restaurant employee in Tomang were finally arrested, the perpetrator was jealous of his wife being close to the perpetrator
JAKARTA - Police arrested two men with the initials ADS (31) and J (29) who were perpetrators of a stabbing attack on a restaurant employee named Gunawan (34) in the Tomang area, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta (Jakbar).
Grogol Petamburan Police Chief AKP Reza Aditya said the two perpetrators were arrested in two different locations after being on the run after the persecution that occurred last Wednesday (20/5).
"Today, we have secured two perpetrators of the beating that occurred on May 20 in Tomang, with the victim's initials G," Reza told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He revealed that the main perpetrator of ADS was arrested by officers in the Bekasi area, West Java. Meanwhile, his colleague, J, who helped in the beating, was arrested in the Tigaraksa Regency area, Banten.
Based on the results of the preliminary examination, the police found that the motive behind the two perpetrators' suicide was purely based on a love affair. The ADS perpetrator was allegedly set on fire by jealousy because he suspected that there was a special relationship between his wife and the victim.
"The motive is suspected romance. The perpetrator suspects that his wife has an affair with the victim, especially because the perpetrator's wife and the victim have worked in the same place," said Reza.
Before the stabbing, ADS was known to have sent threats and invited the victim to a duel. However, the intimidation was never addressed by the victim.
The severe persecution then occurred while the victim was resting at his residence on Jalan Tomang Utara I, Grogol Petamburan.
Suddenly, the two perpetrators came and broke the door of the victim's room and immediately attacked blindly using a sharp weapon type celurit.
The victim had resisted as much as he could in the room before escaping outside the house to ask for help from the surrounding residents in a bloody condition.
As a result of the sharp weapon attack which hit the head area to the arm, the victim suffered about nine large lacerations and had to receive intensive treatment with more than 100 stitches.
Currently, the two perpetrators have been detained in the Grogol Petamburan Police Station to undergo an in-depth examination.
For their actions, the two perpetrators were charged with Article 262 of the Criminal Code concerning extortion, with a maximum penalty of nine years in prison.
