Britney Spears Slams "Mean Girls" After DUI Case, Social Media Post Makes People Curious
JAKARTA - Britney Spears is back to make the public curious. Through two mysterious Instagram posts, the pop singer is suspected of offending the public spotlight after the DUI case that ensnared her last March.
DUI is an abbreviation for driving under the influence, which is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs that can interfere with the driver's awareness.
Reported by HuffPost, Tuesday, June 2, the singer of "Piece of Me" wrote a message with a sarcastic tone last Friday.
"If you're one of the mean girls pointing, laughing, and busy looking at your phones in the audience, try looking up today... River sent a message for you!!!!!!!!!" wrote Spears.
Hours later, Spears re-uploaded a video of her signature dance. In the upload, she admitted to having moved abroad and changed her name.
"When I moved abroad for a while, for some reason I changed my name and the mean girls stopped laughing at me!!!!! God, I miss that place," he wrote.
Spears turned off the comments section on her social media accounts. As a result, the public can only guess at the meaning of the upload.
The name "River" is not a new term for Spears' long-time fans. In January 2023, he once wrote that he changed his name to "River Red".
"I'm changing my name to River Red!!!" Spears wrote at the time.
His Instagram account name was changed to "Maria River Red", then "Xila Maria River Red" in 2024 before it was finally deleted.
According to a HuffPost report, Spears also claimed to have moved to Mexico in December 2024 to avoid the paparazzi, whom she called "cruel". However, another report from The Hollywood Reporter said the claim was denied by an anonymous source.
Spears was back in the news after being arrested on March 4 for erratic driving. Blood tests showed he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
After the arrest, Spears underwent treatment at a rehabilitation facility.
In April, he was officially charged. A month later, Spears received a legal agreement in the form of a 12-month probation, one day of prison time that was considered to have been served, and a fine of 571 US dollars.
He is also required to undergo regular sessions with psychologists and psychiatrists and attend special DUI education classes.
The latest post has once again made the public spotlight Spears' social media activity, which has often sparked fan speculation.
