Accused of the Death of a Student on Nipah Beach Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison
MATARAM - The public prosecutor demands that the panel of judges impose a sentence of 13 years in prison on Radiet Adiansyah, the defendant in the case of the death of a student on Nipah Beach, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Ni Made Vaniradya Puspa Nitra.
"Demanding that the defendant Radiet Adiansyah be sentenced to 13 years in prison, reduced during the defendant's detention," said Sulviany representing the public prosecutor's team, reading the prosecution's material before the panel of judges headed by Mukhlassuddin at the Mataram District Court, Tuesday, June 2, reported by ANTARA.
The prosecutor set the penalty by stating that the defendant was proven to have committed the crime of murder against the victim.
"It is stated that the defendant's actions have been proven in the first indictment of the public prosecutor related to Article 458 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the provisions of the Criminal Code (KUHP)," he said.
The prosecutor demanded this by detailing a number of aggravating considerations. One of them stated that the defendant's actions had caused deep sorrow for the victim's family.
"First, the defendant's actions have disturbed the public. Second, the defendant does not admit his actions, then the defendant is entangled in giving testimony at the trial, and the defendant's actions have caused deep sadness for the victim's family," said the prosecutor.
Furthermore, the consideration that mitigates the demand. The defendant is said to have never been convicted and served a sentence.
"And because the age of the defendant is relatively young, it is hoped that in the future he can improve his actions," he said.
After the material of the indictment was read, the chairman of the panel of judges invited the defendant through his legal advisor to prepare a plea or defense note which was set in the agenda of the next hearing, Wednesday (3/6).
Ni Made Vaniradya Puspa Nitra died on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Her body was found lying on the shore of Nipah Beach, North Lombok Regency, in an unnatural condition.
The body of the student of one of the state universities in Mataram City was found together with the defendant who was also injured all over his body.
When the police conducted the first crime scene at the location, they found items belonging to the defendant and the victim, including the victim's two-wheeled vehicle which was used by the two of them to the location.
At that time, the defendant who was still alive was first taken to the Nipah Health Center for medical treatment. For Vaniradya's body, he was immediately evacuated to Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital.
