Prabowo is angry that SDA Indonesia is more enjoyed abroad.
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has highlighted the management of Indonesia's natural resources, which have not fully benefited the people.
In a speech on the anniversary of Pancasila at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Monday (1/6), Prabowo said that for too long the added value of Indonesia's natural wealth has been enjoyed abroad.
"It has been too long for some of the profits from natural resources to flow abroad and not stay at home," said Prabowo.
He said Indonesia has an important position in the world supply chain. Indonesia is a producer of various strategic commodities, such as nickel, copper, tin, gold, coal, palm oil, and rare earth metals.
However, Prabowo assessed that the strength was not enough to make the people the main party who enjoyed the results.
"For too long our people have only been spectators over their own national wealth," he said.
Therefore, the government will strengthen downstream. Prabowo wants Indonesia not to continue to sell only raw materials. Added value must stay in the country.
He also emphasized the need for strengthening the management of export earnings and export of natural resources in one door.
For Prabowo, the Pancasila economy means that natural wealth should not be controlled for narrow interests. Wealth is a trust that must be used for the prosperity of the people and the future of the next generation.
