Ruben Onsu Explodes, Reveals the Reason for Stopping Child Support

JAKARTA - Ruben Onsu finally exploded. Through his lawyer, Minola Sebayang, the presenter admitted that he was disappointed because his right to meet his children for 2-3 days a week was not fulfilled. Ruben also admitted that he deliberately stopped the allowance since last December as a form of protest.

"Ruben thinks, 'I have to pay even beyond what I should, but my rights can't'. He wants to show his protest. Only 6 months (stop livelihood) has been screaming, even though Ruben has been supporting it for years, what is it called?" said Minola Sebayang in South Jakarta, Sunday, May 31.

Minola revealed the details of the fantastic costs that Ruben had spent, ranging from the insurance of his ex-wife to the unusual household operating costs. However, the sacrifice was considered useless because Ruben felt like a foreigner to his own flesh and blood.

"The money for plastic garbage bags alone is 9 million per month paid by Ruben. But is Ruben's right to gather with his children two to three days a week granted? No. Ruben fights for his children, but don't let his children hate and disobey because of wrong information," said Minola.

Sarwendah's claim that she asked Ruben to immediately contact the child to meet was also sharply criticized by Minola. He assessed that this was an attempt to "wash hands" and complicate the bureaucracy of family communication.

"S's answer is always 'just go to his son'. That means S washes his hands. When he asks for money for education, he doesn't ask his son, he asks. But when Ruben wants to meet, he is thrown to the child. Even though the child's cellphone is not always active, sometimes it takes days to reply," said Minola.

Meanwhile, Sarwendah's party through Chris Sam Siwu strongly denied the allegations. He challenged Ruben's party to show proof of a single short message containing an invitation to pick up a child but was rejected.

"The media storms are said to be complicated, where is the evidence? Communicate it. Has Ruben WA ever asked our client for a child? Our client has never closed a day for his father to come, but has his father ever come to pick him up? There has never been! "challenged Chris Sam Siwu.

Abraham Simon added, it is actually Sarwendah who is carrying all the financial burden of the children alone since Ruben stopped sending money at the end of 2025.

"The fact is that our client since the end of 2025 to 2026 is actually financing schools, tutoring, to the cost of doctors if the child is sick. In the deed, the responsibility of the RO is regulated, but in the implementation, it is Sarwendah," said Abraham Simon.

Ruben Onsu, who also listened to the press conference from a distance, stated that the reason was to involve a lawyer. For him, direct communication with his ex-wife was unhealthy and always ended in heartache.

"I have tried to communicate through WhatsApp, but why should it be through a lawyer? Because direct communication is not good, it hurts each other. I do this so that we don't hurt each other and take the middle way," said Ruben Onsu softly.

To treat his longing for Talia and Thania, Ruben admitted that he often visited orphanages. He did this so that the sad atmosphere would not be carried over when he had to work to entertain the audience on the television screen.

"I don't want to be a melow, I came to the orphanage before going live. I want to have a children's atmosphere so that I am quite calm. I don't want my sad atmosphere to be carried over to the live event I am doing," concluded Ruben Onsu.
