In Front Of Minister Sakti Wahyu, KPK Gives 'Toutiah' To Prevent Corruption To Mothers: Reminds Husbands, Sets Examples For Children

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the wives of officials and organizers within the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to remind their husbands not to get entangled in corrupt practices.

This was conveyed by the anti-corruption education program which was attended by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

This activity was carried out at the KPK's Red and White Building on Wednesday, June 9. In this activity, Trenggono, who was accompanied by other officials at the KKP, was met by Deputy Chairmen of the KPK, Alexander Marwata and Nawawi Pomolango.

"We at the KPK invite if he is an official, gentlemen, we invite the mothers. Because we want to encourage family-based corruption prevention and education," Alex said at a press conference held at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. .

He said the wives of these officials were asked to escort their husbands and guide their children in their homes to prevent corruption. Furthermore, at the end of the event, the wives present, including the wife of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, were asked to put a jacket on her husband.

"We asked the couple to put on a jacket that was worn by the Director General, the Minister (KKP, ed) to whisper while wearing the jacket, 'Sir, don't be corrupt, remember the family at home, give a good example for the children,' he said.

This, said Alex, is aimed at preventing state officials and officials at the KKP from committing disgraceful acts. Including corruption.

"That's actually the activities of the KPK, especially with the Ministry of KKP to provide briefing related to the values of integrity for state administrators and officials," he explained.

Meanwhile, KKP Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said that what the anti-corruption commission had done as a step to prevent corruption had been very good. He even said that this kind of debriefing should be done continuously.

"This briefing should not only be once but every period maybe. Whether it's once a year or at the beginning of every year how many times, we always have to have a meeting with the leadership and all members of the leadership as well so that we can discuss each other," he said at the same press conference.

Trenggono also said that apart from providing briefings, his party conveyed findings in the field which were then discussed. The goal is that deviations do not occur.

"We need to discuss a lot of things and findings in the field that we need to discuss so that we are not tempted and deviated," he said.

"I have asked the Director General in every activity of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries throughout the Directorate General to always provide assistance. That is one of the efforts we are making," concluded Trenggono.
