BTS Sucks 840,000 North American Viewers, Additional Tickets Follow Ludes
JAKARTA - BTS has once again attracted attention after almost four years of hiatus. Their world tour series in North America recorded 840,000 spectators from 15 performances in five cities.
According to a Yonhap report quoted on Saturday, May 30, the figure was conveyed by BTS's agency, BigHit Music, on Saturday, May 30. The concert was part of the "Arirang" world tour.
BTS held concerts with sold-out tickets in Tampa, El Paso, Stanford, and Las Vegas in the United States, as well as Mexico City in Mexico.
Due to high demand, BTS added shows in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas. All the additional tickets were also sold out.
This tour marks BTS's return after the members completed their military service. In South Korea, military service is mandatory for men.
The figure of 840,000 spectators shows the strong interest in BTS after the break. High demand was also seen from additional concert schedules that were still sold out.
Yonhap quoted a Billboard report that said BTS earned 76.2 million US dollars and sold 417,000 tickets from eight concerts in Goyang, Tokyo, and Tampa in April. This achievement makes BTS' tour the highest-grossing tour in that month.
The next show will be held on June 12-13 in Busan, a port city in southeastern South Korea.
