The Presence of TNI AD Soldiers Must Provide a Real Impact for the Community

JAKARTA - The presence of TNI AD soldiers in the regions must have a real impact on the surrounding community, said the Head of the TNI AD Information Service, Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono.

Speaking at a meeting with the media in Jakarta, the Head of the National Development Planning Agency explained, "the current national development paradigm places security stability and people's welfare as two related things."

In the TNI Commander's Unit (Dansat) Apel for the 2026 Fiscal Year at the Defense University (Unhan) in Sentul, West Java, last April, the Chief of Staff of the TNI General Maruli revealed the achievements of various flagship programs of the TNI AD that directly touched the needs of the community, ranging from the provision of clean water, the construction of bridges, to waste management.

Kasad emphasized that the TNI AD not only focuses on the aspect of defense, but also plays an active role in helping accelerate development and improving people's welfare, in line with the policy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.

The presence of the TNI AD in various regions cannot be separated from the existence of the Territorial Development Battalion (Yon TP). The Head of the National Disaster Management Agency explained that the existence of this unit is a strengthening of the TNI AD's territorial development function in supporting regional resilience, accelerating development, and handling emergency and disaster conditions.

"This unit is to help and support national development, not to take over the role of civil institutions," said the Commander of Group-3, which is now Unit-71/Sandi Yudha Kopassus for the period 2022-2023.

Brigadier General Donny said that the existence of Yon TP has an economic impact by becoming a local economic driver, health impact by providing health services, especially in remote areas, regional development impact by helping accelerate the equalization of development in difficult-to-reach areas, security impact, and social impact. community.

Bridge Construction

Regarding the bridge program, the TNI AD Bridge Task Force led by the Chief of Staff General Maruli received praise from President Prabowo, regarding the seriousness and speed of soldiers in completing the construction of bridges in disaster areas and areas that need bridges.

The Head of the National Agency for the Development of Transportation (Kadispenad) revealed that to date, a total of 523 bridges throughout Indonesia have been completed.

A total of 300 bridges have been completed in disaster areas, with details, bailey bridges as many as 69 units, armco bridges 157 units, concrete bridges 13 units, and pioneer bridges 61 units.

Meanwhile, 223 bridges were successfully completed in various areas that were not disaster areas, with details: two bailey bridges, 38 armco bridges, 85 concrete bridges, and 98 pioneer bridges.

"It's real so yes. We keep making it, the process is many, thousands more later," said the Head of the National Agency in a short message received by VOI.id.

For comparison, President Prabowo inaugurated 218 bridges that were completed in various parts of the country on March 9, 2026.

In addition to restoring community and economic activities in disaster areas, bridge construction also has a direct impact on the community, including to facilitate access to mobility, access to education to health.
