Mikel Arteta Makes Last Season's Match Against PSG a Lesson

JAKARTA - Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said last season's match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was a lesson when the two teams met in the Champions League final at the Puskas Arena Stadium, Budapest, Saturday night.

"We of course use the examples and things we have learned from those three games, and there are many things to be learned from there," Arteta said, quoted by Antara from the club's official website, Saturday.

Last season, Arsenal met PSG three times, once in the Champions League league phase which ended in victory, but in the two semi-final legs the Gunners suffered defeat.

Although the three meetings last season will be used as a lesson by Arsenal, Arteta believes that the condition of both teams this season is different.

"It's true that we have evolved in a different way, and they have also evolved in a different way. Their scenarios are also different," said Arteta.

"We have taken some lessons and some things we have to improve, and I'm sure it will happen tomorrow," he said.

Ahead of the match against PSG, the Spanish coach said his team's preparations were going well and Bukayo Saka and his colleagues were very motivated.

Arteta emphasized his team's target in the final match is to win the title and they will try to achieve it.

"It's really good. The preparation has been really good, really focused, and really positive. We are here because we have earned the right to be here with the way we have played and performed in this competition," Arteta said.
