Paris - President Prabowo Subianto discussed solutions to resolving the conflict in Palestine with French President Emmanuel Macron. President Prabowo stated that Indonesia and France have the same views regarding the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through the implementation of a two-state solution.
This was conveyed by Prabowo during a state visit to France and met with President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, Paris, Thursday, May 28.
During the meeting, President Prabowo and Macron agreed that the stability of the Middle East region is an important common interest, given its impact on global energy security and global supply chains.
President Prabowo also reiterated Indonesia's stance that peace in the Middle East will not be realized without the implementation of a two-state solution and justice for the Palestinian people. Beyond the Palestinian issue, this state visit also aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, including through the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council to encourage investment and economic cooperation.
Indonesia and France currently have strategic cooperation in various fields, especially defense, science and technology, and education. The economic cooperation of the two countries is also strengthened through the framework of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).
On the same occasion, President Prabowo conveyed that he had instructed the teaching of French at various levels of education in Indonesia. According to him, this step is important in the midst of global dynamics full of uncertainty and conflict.
