Prabowo encourages French investment to enter Indonesia more

PARIS - President Prabowo Subianto encouraged French investment to enter Indonesia. He said the Jakarta-Paris relationship was at its best.

This was conveyed by Prabowo when he met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, Paris, Thursday, May 28.

"We want to increase this cooperation, increase investment in both countries," said Prabowo.

He welcomed the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council. According to Prabowo, the forum is important to strengthen business relations between the two countries.

Prabowo said Indonesia opens up space for the presence of more French companies in the national economy.

"We will be very happy with the participation and presence of French companies in the Indonesian economy," he said.

During the meeting, Prabowo and Macron also discussed defense cooperation, education, research, and the implementation of the Indonesia-European CEPA.

When meeting with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of ministers and high officials, including Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Investment and Industrialization/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the French Republic Mohamad Oemar.

Prabowo called France and Europe an important world power. He hopes that the Indonesia-France relationship will continue to run in a clear direction and with strong commitment.
