Today's Weather in Jabodetabek: Bogor Heavy Rain, South Jakarta Light Rain

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas on Friday, May 29 will be dominated by cloudy conditions to light rain in the afternoon and evening. A number of buffer areas of the capital city also have the potential to experience rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The DKI Jakarta region is predicted to experience sunny cloudy weather in the morning. However, light rain is likely to fall in South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon to evening. The air temperature in Jakarta ranges from 24 to 31 degrees Celsius with air humidity reaching 70-95 percent.

Meanwhile, the Bogor area is expected to experience moderate to heavy rain since noon, especially in the Bogor Regency, Cibinong, and Puncak areas. Rain is potentially accompanied by lightning and strong winds. The air temperature in Bogor is in the range of 20-27 degrees Celsius with high humidity levels.

In the Bekasi area, the weather is predicted to be thick clouds since morning before light to moderate rain in the afternoon and evening. The air temperature ranges from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius. BMKG urges the public to be aware of waterlogging and slippery road conditions when it rains during rush hour.

The Tangerang and Depok areas are also predicted to experience light to moderate rain in the afternoon. The humid weather conditions in Jabodetabek are still influenced by atmospheric activity that supports the formation of rain clouds in the western Java region.

BMKG asks people who are active outdoors to prepare umbrellas or raincoats and continue to monitor weather information to anticipate weather changes that may occur at any time.
