Icona Pop Immortalize Love and Euphoria in Butterfly Feelings
JAKARTA - Award-winning and multi-platinum certified Icona Pop is back with their latest euphoric single titled Butterfly Feelings. The feeling of blooming is the main fuel for this work.
This song is one of the materials on their upcoming album, Ritual, which will be prepared to be released on August 14 via Ultra Records/Iconic Sound Recordings. In this song, Icona Pop presents a wave of intoxicating feelings when falling in love intensely and suddenly.
Co-written, the song blends futuristic synths, a bittersweet pop melody, and a cheerful club beat with the euphoric emotional fragility that has long been the duo's signature sound. The song captures the uncertainty and excitement that shakes out of new love through Icona Pop's signature energetic lens with a powerful hook.
"Butterfly Feelings is a short song about falling in love without being able to hold back. We remember all the moments when we felt it. At first you try to deny it, but you can't stop thinking about that person," said Icona Pop about his new single.
The release of this single follows Dance To This and the energetic lead track, Ritual. Built on themes of survival, movement, and self-discovery, the song showcases a more vulnerable and emotional side of the duo.
Throughout the album, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo explore themes of friendship, self-transformation, healing, heartbreak, motherhood, and joy - turning the dance floor into a place to let go of burdens and renew ourselves.
Speaking about the project, Icona Pop revealed her deepest feelings as an artist and musician who not only works, but also performs.
"The healing process demands you to slow down and reflect, but you can't constantly tinker with yourself all the time. In the end, you have to get back out into the world and see what's going on. You'll probably make mistakes - but that's probably what you need. For us, the dance floor has always been a place where we find ourselves and each other again. That's where we can get lost in the music and let go of everything else," they concluded.
