Lemhanas Optimistic Economic Growth Target of 8 Percent Can Be Achieved in 2029

JAKARTA - The Governor of the National Resilience Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Ace Hasan Syadzily, emphasized the government's optimism in maintaining national economic growth amid global geopolitical dynamics and world economic pressures.

This was conveyed by Ace Hasan in the National Education Seminar for the 27th National Leadership Development (P3N) held by Lemhanas RI with the theme "Acceleration of Economic Growth in the Context of Strengthening National Resilience in the Middle of Global Geopolitical Dynamics".

On that occasion, Ace Hasan was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Lemhanas RI Laksdya TNI Erwin Aldedharma, lecturers Prof. Bondan Tiara Sofyan, Prof. Kassan Effendi, Brigjen Pol Ade Ary, and Brigjen TNI Bangkit.

"This theme is very relevant in the midst of a global geopolitical situation full of uncertainty and has an impact on our geoeconomy," Ace Hasan told the media at the Lemhanas building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

He said that although the global economy had slowed down, Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 remained positive at 5.61 percent.

According to him, this achievement is an important capital for the government of President Prabowo Subianto to pursue the national economic growth target of 8 percent in 2029.

"The target of 8 percent in 2029 is a realistic target. The growth trend is now quite good and must continue to be maintained," he said.

Ace Hasan said, Lemhanas through the 27th P3N Force participants encouraged the birth of various strategic formulations to strengthen national resilience while supporting quality economic growth.

He assessed that Indonesia has strong capital in the form of a large domestic market, abundant natural resources, and a fairly good economic resilience in the face of global pressures.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of cross-sector synergy in maintaining financial market stability, including through strengthening the banking sector and the capital market so that they are able to support economic growth for the community and business world.

"However, of course we must still refer to the constitutional economic system as regulated in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution," he said.

The seminar was also attended by Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo and Head of the Deposit Insurance Agency Anggito Abimanyu as speakers, who explained the national economic conditions and government monetary policies.

Ace Hasan also touched on the impact of geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East, including disruptions in the distribution of world oil due to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to him, the government has taken strategic steps so that the impact of rising energy prices does not burden the community too much, especially by keeping subsidized fuel prices stable.

"The government is committed not to raise the price of subsidized fuel and ensure that energy supplies such as LPG remain available to the public," he said.

Furthermore, Ace Hasan said that the results of the national seminar would later be formulated as strategic recommendations to be submitted to the President.

He hopes that the P3N participants can become national leaders who have a comprehensive view and high optimism in facing global challenges.

He shouted, the education process at Lemhanas is also a space for the integration of various elements of the nation, ranging from the TNI, Polri, ministries, academics, to the business world.

"Building Indonesia cannot be done alone. This is the task of all components of the nation that are prepared through education at Lemhanas," he concluded.*
