Polda Metro Jaya Siagakan Personel Jaga Iduladha

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has prepared comprehensive security to maintain the series of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah in Jakarta to ensure that all worship activities run safely, orderly, and conducive.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said the police would be on high alert from the night of takbir, Eid al-Adha prayers, to the slaughter and distribution of sacrificial animals.

"We want to ensure that the entire series runs safely, orderly, and conducive," said Budi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 27.

Special Eid al-Adha prayers at the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/5), the Metro Jaya Police deployed 350 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, Satpol PP, and the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service.

Budi explained that the focus of security at the Istiqlal Mosque was to regulate traffic flow around the mosque, secure the mosque's interior and exterior areas, maintain the arrival and departure routes for pilgrims, and sterilize the location before the worship began.

The police were also deployed to guard a number of Eid al-Adha prayer locations and large-scale sacrificial animal slaughter points.

Bhabinkamtibmas officers are instructed to actively coordinate with the sacrificial committee in order to maintain crowds and ensure that the distribution of meat is orderly.

For houses that are empty during the long Eid al-Adha holiday, the Polda Metro Jaya has intensified patrols in residential areas, congested lanes, crowded centers, and tourist attractions.

"Our personnel are directed to serve humanistically, professionally, and proportionately. We also appeal to the public to remain orderly, respect each other, and follow the instructions of officers in the field," said Budi.

The Commissioner of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General of Police Asep Edi Suheri, congratulated the people of the capital and its surroundings on celebrating Eid al-Adha.

"Hopefully, the spirit of sacrifice, sincerity, and social concern will strengthen our brotherhood and togetherness in maintaining Jakarta safe, comfortable, and conducive," said Asep.
