Bareskrim Names 4 Suspects in Medan New Zone Narcotics Case
JAKARTA - The Narcotics Crime Directorate (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named four suspects in a case of alleged drug trafficking at the New Zone nightclub in Medan, North Sumatra.

"According to the information from the operations manager, there have been several times when visitors have overdosed on drugs and have been rushed to the nearest hospital by the management," said Eko.

In addition to the suspects, investigators also included two people on the wanted list (DPO), namely Eddy as the controller and Ape as the drug supplier.
"After conducting an in-depth investigation, the team obtained the fact that Eddy alias Awi arranged and controlled the distribution and sale of drugs in New Zone," said Eko.
Not only that, he also revealed that investigators found evidence of money laundering (TPPU) so that the team of Subdit IV Dittipidnarkoba seized several assets belonging to Eddy.
For the modus operandi of drug circulation, he explained that visitors who come will be directed first to the hall or the empty room.
Then, the visitor called the waiter (waiter) to order drugs with the code "torch", "medicine" or "o". Next, the waiter asked for the amount of drugs to be ordered.
Not long after, the waiter came with ecstasy or drugs with the amount ordered and the visitor made a cash or transfer payment.
During the six years that New Zone has been operating, it is estimated that the sale of drugs or drugs that have been consumed is as many as 65,700 pieces.
Thus, the estimated total value of drugs that have been sold is IDR 65.7 billion.
Previously, on Saturday (23/5), the Narcotics Division of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit raided the New Zone nightclub in Medan.
From the action, investigators secured 34 people consisting of owners, managers, staff, adult visitors, and underage visitors.
