Post-disaster recovery of Sumatra is being implemented until 2028, with Rp10.6 trillion in funds disbursed.

JAKARTA - The government has allocated additional funds through transfers to regions (TKD) of Rp. 10.6 trillion for disaster-affected areas in three provinces in Sumatra, namely North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that the additional budget had been approved by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto since January. And the TKD has also been distributed to the affected areas.

"President in January has approved additional TKD to the regions in these three provinces, totaling Rp. 10.6 trillion," said Tito in a Press Conference after the Coordination Meeting for Post-Disaster Management of Sumatra at the DPR RI building, Monday, May 25.

He explained, the additional funds consist of Rp1.65 trillion for Aceh; Rp6.35 trillion for North Sumatra; and Rp2.63 trillion for West Sumatra.

Tito said the central government through the task force continues to monitor the use of the budget so that it is really used by the local government to handle the impact of disasters in their respective regions.

According to him, the government has also inventoried all activity plans from each region which are contained in the regulation of regional heads.

"And we have inventoried their plans for all activities by making regulations for governors or mayors or regents," said Tito.

In addition to the additional TKD, Tito said the government had also approved a post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction budget in Sumatra worth a total of Rp. 100 trillion for a three-year period.

The budget was allocated at Rp38.9 trillion in 2026, then Rp32.9 trillion in 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028.
