Saudi Says Indonesian Hajj Service Has Jumped Far

JAKARTA - The Saudi Arabian government assesses that Indonesian Hajj services in 2026 have experienced a major increase. The assessment was delivered after the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, directly reviewed the Indonesian Hajj services in Mina, Sunday, May 25, 2026.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah RI Moch Irfan Yusuf said the visit was a form of recognition for the improvement of Indonesian Hajj services this year.

"Alhamdulillah, we have just received the honor of receiving a visit from the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah. They came with their entourage to appreciate our achievements this year, which according to them have made a tremendous leap," said Moch Irfan Yusuf or Gus Irfan.

According to Gus Irfan, Saudi Arabia hopes that the improvement in services will not stop at this year's hajj season. The quality of the congregation's service must be maintained and continued to be improved.

He also said that cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia would determine the smooth running of the hajj.

"We are grateful that the cooperation between the Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is truly extraordinary and produces the best Hajj service for our pilgrims this year," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah RI Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said the Saudis used the term existential leap to describe the changes in Indonesian Hajj services. The term refers to a major leap in governance and service delivery.

"What is clear is that the term Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah has an existential leap, there is a far leap in the implementation of this year's Hajj," said Dahnil.

The Saudi appreciation came at an important phase of the implementation of the hajj. Officers still have to maintain the services of pilgrims, especially during the peak of worship in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina or Armuzna.

Dahnil asked for public support so that the improvement of Hajj services continues and has a direct impact on Indonesian pilgrims.

"I ask for prayers from all Indonesian people so that the hard work of all teams in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will have a good impact for the transformation of Hajj in the era of President Prabowo," he said.
