ResepGerak.ID Launched, the First Scientifically Based Exercise Recipe Platform in Indonesia
JAKARTA - The ResepGerak.ID digital platform was officially launched today as the first scientifically proven mobile prescription platform in Indonesia. Initiated by dr. Antonius Andi Kurniawan, Sp.KO., Subsp. ALK (K) and supported by Eminence Sports Medicine Centre, this platform is present to democratize sports medicine knowledge which has long been limited in consultation rooms or foreign language scientific journals.
ResepGerak.ID presents Indonesian-language medical information that is practical, easy to understand, and can be directly applied by the general public, ranging from individuals with medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, musculoskeletal complaints, to those who need a safe and measurable fitness program. Containing various articles about injury recovery, injury prevention programs, exercise guides for 12 sports, motion recipes for 10 chronic medical conditions, as well as interactive body maps for 12 body zones, this platform is also equipped with exercise tutorial videos that can be practiced easily.
The founder of this platform, dr. Antonius Andi Kurniawan or DokAndi, is a sports medicine specialist with more than 20 years of experience. He was the doctor of the Indonesian contingent team in three Olympics (London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020) as well as the Medical Director of the Jakarta Running Festival and Borobudur Marathon.
"For years, I have seen Indonesia's best athletes have access to science-based training, injury prevention, and recovery protocols," said DokAndi, Monday, May 25.
"However, millions of Indonesians who want to start an active life, from housewives, office workers with physical complaints, the elderly, to amateur runners, have never been taught how to train or manage injuries properly. ResepGerak.ID was developed to bridge this gap."
dr. Muh Ikhwan Zein, Sp.K.O., Subsp. A.L.K.(K).,Ph.D., Chairman of the Association of Sports Medicine Specialists (PDSKO), gave full support.
"With the limited number of sports medicine specialists in Indonesia, the launch of ResepGerak.ID is a real support because it can expand the reach of services to the community. This is in line with the mission of PDSKO to improve the quality of Indonesian public health through evidence-based movement knowledge." said Dr. Ikhwan.
Meanwhile, Yaya Suharya, a mentor at the Indonesian Alzheimer's Foundation (ALZI), feels the benefits of this evidence-based approach.
"At the age of 97, I still move regularly according to DokAndi's instructions. With this activity, I feel healthy, fit, and independent, and most importantly reduce the risk of falling. Platforms like ResepGerak.ID are very important so that elderly people like me understand that age is not a barrier to staying active," he said.
This platform is built on three main pillars: peer-reviewed scientific evidence-based knowledge, Indonesian language accessibility, and real applicability with guidelines that can be immediately practiced.
DokAndi imagines a future Indonesia where the science of sports medicine is a shared asset, so that everyone has access to the right prescription of movement and can move with understanding, not fear.
"Knowledge of safe and effective movement is not a privilege, but a basic human right, and ResepGerak.ID is here to ensure that this right is fulfilled," he concluded.
