90 Houses in Rumpin Bogor Damaged by Strong Wind

BOGOR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency recorded that as many as 90 residents' houses were damaged by strong winds in Tamansari Village, Rumpin District, Bogor Regency, West Java, Sunday, May 24.

The incident occurred when heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit the Rumpin area around 14.30 WIB. BPBD said the extreme weather caused damage to dozens of residents' houses, especially on the roof and roof.

Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD Bogor Regency M. Adam Hamdani said the most damage occurred in Parakanomas Village RT 01, 02, and 03 RW 01, Tamansari Village.

"High rainfall accompanied by strong winds caused a number of residents' houses to be damaged, especially on the roof and roof," said Adam, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 25.

Of the total 90 houses affected, seven houses suffered moderate damage, while the other 83 houses suffered minor damage. Moderate damage includes the collapse of the house wall to the roof of the house carried away by the wind.

In addition to damaging buildings, the disaster also forced two families with a total of 10 people to evacuate to the nearest relatives' houses because their houses were no longer safe to be occupied temporarily.

Even so, BPBD ensured that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. Some residents also began to make repairs on their own so that they could still live in their homes.

The Bogor Regency BPBD immediately deployed a Rapid Response Team (TRC) to the location to conduct damage mapping, assessment, and coordination with local village officials.

"Officers have also distributed tarpaulin assistance to affected residents for temporary handling," said Adam.

BPBD also appealed to the public to increase vigilance against the potential for extreme weather that is still likely to occur in the Bogor area, especially heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that can trigger building damage and tree falls.

Currently, the conditions at the location are reported to be conducive and the emergency handling process is still being carried out.
