RI's wealth is too much leaking, Prabowo promises to close the gap

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto again highlighted the leakage of Indonesian wealth. He said that national resources must be managed by themselves and the results are enjoyed by the people, not just a few parties.

Prabowo made the statement while attending a shrimp harvest in Kebumen, Central Java, Saturday, May 23.

"Indonesia is really very rich, but too much of our wealth is leaking," said Prabowo.

The President said the government did not want Indonesia's wealth to continue to be played by certain parties or certain countries.

"Now our wealth, we manage ourselves. We don't want our wealth to be constantly played by certain people, by certain countries," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that he would work hard to close the leak.

"I am determined, I will try as hard as I can and the energy of all my assistants, we will do whatever it takes to stop the leakage of the wealth of the Indonesian people," he said.

According to Prabowo, the wealth must return to the people.

"This wealth must be enjoyed by all Indonesian people. Not just a few," he said.
