Megah Office Asked to be Delayed, Prabowo Chooses a Project that Generates Money
KEBUMEN - President Prabowo Subianto asked that government spending be directed to projects that directly produce. He said that the construction of offices could be delayed if it did not have an impact on production and people's jobs.
Prabowo conveyed this message when attending the shrimp harvest at BUBK Kebumen, Central Java, Saturday (23/5).
"Sorry, we are now a little submissive, we have built many offices. Magnificent offices, no products. It's better if the office is not so good, but the product is good," said Prabowo.
According to the President, prioritized projects must create jobs, generate added value, and increase people's income.
Prabowo gave an example of a shrimp pond in Kebumen. From an area of about 65 hectares, shrimp production is said to reach 40 tons per hectare with a selling price of around Rp. 70 thousand per kilogram.
The dam employs around 650 local workers. The government is also preparing similar projects in Waingapu covering 2,000 hectares, Gorontalo 200 hectares, and Pantura West Java 14 thousand hectares.
"We will build productive projects that produce protein for our people and also for sale abroad so that we can get foreign exchange," said Prabowo.
