Luxury Collection of Bags and Jewelry Draws Attention at Auction Room
JAKARTA - Luxury seems to steal the spotlight since it first entered the area of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office Asset Recovery Agency (BPA) in Kebagusan, South Jakarta. Behind the agenda of auctioning state assets, the public is instead treated to an experience of entering a showroom of exclusive fashion collections and high-value jewelry.
In one of the glass rooms that became the center of attention of visitors, a row of luxury bags from world fashion houses are neatly arranged in the showcase. Big names such as Hermes, Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton are attractive, complete with a number of rare collections that are difficult to find in the market.
One of the items that caught the most attention was the Louis Vuitton Grace Coddington Twist MM. The limited edition bag became a magnet for visitors who were curious to see the premium collection in person, which usually only appears in certain boutiques or exclusive auctions.
Not only bags, the showroom is also filled with rows of gold jewelry, diamonds, and precious metals stored behind closed showcases. A number of collections look so personal, ranging from earrings with the initials "SDW", pendants with the words "Sandra" and "Sandra Dewi", to bracelets and rings with the names "Mika" and "Raphael", which are suspected to be personal items belonging to Sandra Dewi and her two sons.
Most of the fashion and jewelry collections are known to come from assets seized in cases involving Harvey Moeis. Meanwhile, some other precious metals come from different suspect cases. Visitors are only allowed to take a close look without touching the collection directly, with officers on duty to provide information on the condition and specifications of the goods.
Interestingly, similar bags come in a variety of colors, ranging from navy, beige, gray, brown, electric blue, pink, to white, with different limit values depending on their condition and scarcity.
Behind the atmosphere of the luxury showcase, the BPA Fair 2026 is an agenda for auctioning state assets held by the Indonesian Attorney General's Office from May 18 to 21, 2026. This activity is designed to introduce the asset recovery process to the public more openly while bringing the auction mechanism closer to the public.
Head of the Asset Recovery Agency, Kuntadi, said that the implementation of the BPA Fair was a real effort to introduce the process of managing and returning assets from criminal acts to the public.
"This activity is a tangible manifestation of the Asset Recovery Agency's efforts in responding to the challenges of the public who are still so unfamiliar with the process of resolving state seized assets through auction sales," said Kuntadi, when met at the Asset Recovery Agency's office, South Jakarta on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
"At the same time, we will introduce the Asset Recovery Agency as an entity of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office in carrying out the management and return of assets from criminal acts or other assets to the state and the entitled victims," he continued.
Not only presenting an auction of confiscated assets, BPA Fair this year also brought a new approach through public promotions that are closer to the community. Starting from the pre-event launching on April 22, 2026, promotional activities during Car Free Day on May 10, 2026, to the main series of events on May 18-21, 2026, all agendas are claimed to go beyond the expectations of the organizers.
According to Kuntadi, another innovation presented is to include artwork and musical instruments as investment-value auction objects.
"One of the innovations that we present in the implementation of the BPA Fair this time is to introduce a new dimension in the auction ecosystem, namely to raise the work of talented painters and introduce musical instruments as high-value auction objects as a work of art, not just a musical instrument," he explained.
"We believe that art and music are not just entertainment, but cultural assets that have economic value and long-term investment," he added.
The enthusiasm of the public for this event is also quite high. Based on BPA's internal evaluation, the majority of visitors gave a positive response to the organization of the event and the quality of service provided by officers during the exhibition.
At its peak, the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, Burhanuddin, officially closed the BPA Fair 2026 series at the BPA Kebagusan Office, Jakarta. In his speech, he emphasized that the approach to law enforcement is no longer only oriented towards prosecuting perpetrators, but also recovering state losses.
"The success of law enforcement is not measured by the length of prison sentences, but by how much financial losses to the state can be recovered," said Burhanuddin.
BPA Fair 2026 recorded significant achievements. Of the total 308 units of assets auctioned, 300 units were sold with a success rate of 88.64 percent. The value of the limit of the assets sold was recorded at Rp922.2 billion, with an increase in the auction price reaching Rp74.7 billion. Overall, the total auction proceeds touched a fantastic figure, namely Rp997.4 billion.
One of the most sought-after assets is the Harley Davidson Road Glide which recorded the highest price increase of up to 930.86 percent with a total of 349 auction participants.
Seeing the high public response, BPA hopes that this agenda can develop into an annual program as a step to optimize asset recovery as well as strengthening state revenues. With a combination of legal transparency, premium exhibition experience, and a closer public approach, the BPA Fair 2026 managed to present a new face of state asset auctions that feel more modern and inclusive.
BPA Fair 2026 is also supported by strategic partners, namely PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero), PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk.
