Purbaya warns DSI not to become a new monopoly
JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reminded DSI/Danantara Sumber Daya Industri to be closely monitored so that it does not turn into a new monopoly that disrupts the market.
Purbaya said that DSI supervision needed to involve elements of the Ministry of Finance and other ministries/institutions.
"If it is not properly supervised, it will become a monopoly institution that will become a source of problems again," Purbaya told reporters after a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Friday, May 22.
According to Purbaya, supervision is needed so that DSI does not run on its own and makes decisions "as comfortable as the scalp".
"He will not be a monopoly that disrupts the market," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the export policy through DSI will take effect on June 1. Implementation is carried out gradually.
"Implementation has stages, but it will take effect on June 1," said Airlangga.
He said the full implementation would be evaluated after three months.
Airlangga also said the government would check the practice of manipulating export invoicing through Customs, Danantara, and the system that was prepared.
"So it will be automatically monitored," he said.
When asked about sanctions, Airlangga said the rules would be prepared.
"Later it will be regulated, there are yellow cards, there are red cards," said Airlangga.
