Burhanuddin Abdullah Various Experiences in Overcoming Economic Turbulence to President Prabowo

Jakarta - Former Governor of Bank Indonesia Burhanuddin Abdullah was invited by President Prabowo Subianto to the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, May 22.

To reporters after the meeting, Burhanuddin recounted his experience when economic turmoil occurred in 2005. He said the discussion was not specific about the rupiah, but concerned the impact of global pressure on the economy.

Burhanuddin said there were things that needed to be explained more clearly by the government. He said that dealing with economic problems requires government coordination, both in terms of fiscal and monetary.

During the meeting, Burhanuddin admitted that he had conveyed a number of general proposals to President Prabowo. He said President Prabowo asked the Minister of Finance to think about the input. Regarding his proposal, Burhanuddin was reluctant to elaborate.
