Luke Thomas Entered DSI, Danantara Reveals the Reason
JAKARTA - Danantara began to open the reasons behind the selection of Luke Thomas as the head of PT DSI. Track record in the mineral sector, trading experience, and business networks are the main considerations.
BPI Danantara CEO Danantara Rosan Roeslani said Luke was considered to have long experience in multinational companies, including Vale. He is also said to understand the mineral and trade sectors.
"We see that there is experience in trading, there are minerals, so the leadership in many mineral companies, and the networking is also good," said Rosan at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, May 22.
Rosan also said that Luke had worked very well at Danantara. The ability to speak Indonesian is also an added value. However, Rosan emphasized that the main consideration was still the track record and professional experience.
"He can speak Indonesian too. His wife is Indonesian. But most importantly, he has trading experience, he has minerals," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto chose to be frugal in speaking about Luke's appointment. He said the decision was an internal matter for Danantara.
"That's internal Danantara," said Airlangga.
Even so, Airlangga hopes that Danantara will soon have a solid management. He did not answer in length when asked if Luke's experience was suitable for leadership.
"We do not comment. But we hope that a solid management can be formed soon," he said.
Airlangga also touched on the association's response to policies that had previously been socialized. According to him, the association's response so far has been positive.
"The associations understand and prepare for implementation," said Airlangga.
However, there is one note from the association. They ask for transparency and clarity from the new SOE regulator.
"What they ask for is certainly transparency and clarity from the new SOE regulatory body," he said.
Furthermore, Airlangga said that the association responded positively to the socialization of the policy, but still asked for transparency and clarity from the new SOE regulator.
